Teacher convicted on assault charge

Alicia Williams-Hardaway

A 41-year-old Birmingham woman found guilty of assault third-degree after an incident at a prom supply business.
Investigators say on March 3, 2015, personnel from a prom supply business reported being assaulted by a customer. Store personnel informed the responding officer that Alicia Williams-Hardaway was a teacher at Talladega High School. The store personnel says Williams-Hardaway asked for copies of the contract with the school. They say when she was told they could not release that information to her, she became irate and began yelling and cursing at business personnel. Police say Williams-Hardaway was asked to leave and as she was leaving, she grabbed store personnel around the neck and dug her fingernails into their skin, leaving several scratches.

Williams-Hardaway appeared before Anniston Municipal court Wednesday. She was given a fine of $300, $342 court cost and received a 180 Day suspended sentence.
