Young girl killed in Cheaha climbing accident

A young girl was killed Saturday afternoon in a rock climbing accident at Cheaha State Park.

Tammy Power, park superintendent for Cheaha State Park, confirmed that the girl was killed while repelling near the Cool Pit Rock trail about 4:40 p.m. Details of the accident, and the identity of the victim, have not been released by the Cleburne County coroner at this time.
