Counterfiet money in Childersburg

Childersburg police report that  counterfeit $20 bills are circulating in their city. Police were alerted of the problem over the Labor Day weekend when a fake bill was passed through a convenience store. A woman told police she acquired the bill after giving a man a ride into town. She tried to use the bill to get some gas at a local gas station where a second bill was later found in the store’s cash receipt.  Police believe there are several counterfeit $20 bills in circulation, and they all likely have the same serial number: JD06063759C. Police have also notified the Secret Service of the counterfeit bills in circulation. The case is still under investigation.
