Leesburg man held in Marshall county burglary

A 20 year old Leesburg man is in the Marshall County on an assortment of charges after being arrested on multiple charges.  James David Bussey, is charged with third-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, first-degree receiving stolen property and illegal possession of prescription drugs.  Douglas Police and a sheriff’s patrol unit went to Mount Hebron Road after a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area, according to the report. The vehicle wasn’t immediately located, but eventually was seen and stopped by Douglas officer Alan Hicks near the Mount Hebron Volunteer Fire Department. The vehicle was loaded with items both in the cargo area and strapped to the top. Douglas Police Chief Eric Speight and sheriff’s investigators began searching the area for a home that had been burglarized, and found one on Mount Hebron Road. The home is under construction and was not yet occupied, but appliances, construction tools, construction materials and other items had been taken. The stolen items were valued at more than $6,500 and an estimated $10,000 in damage was done to the home.

Authorities expect more arrests in the case.
