Southside woman charged with burglary

A 28 year old Southside woman already free on bond for receiving stolen property charges has now been arrested on burglary-related charges.  Amy Renee Martin, has been charged with third-degree burglary and first-degree theft of property. Southside Police say she was caught on the property of a Katherine Street home by the owner and then left. The owner called police when he noticed jewelry missing.  When police caught up with Martin, they found stolen jewelry.  Martin was arrested June 28 on five counts of receiving stolen property. Police say in those cases, all of the homes burglarized were within walking distance of Martin's home. Jewelry was the only item stolen in each of the burglaries. Police tracked Martin down after she sold some jewelry to the Gold and Silver Exchange, which made her show identification before selling it.  Martin's bond on the five initial charges has been revoked and she is in the Etowah County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond for the two new charges. Her bond on the other charges hasn't been reset.
