Man charged with driving thru Gadsden Bank

A man faces burglary, criminal mischief and reckless endangerment charges after he ran his car into a bank Saturday morning.  Gadsden Police say that  Jimmy Bothwell became upset Saturday at Regions Bank on Piedmont Cutoff when at a drive-thru window he was told his account was locked and no one could help him until Monday. The report said Bothwell became irate, using profanity and threatening employees. Two other men in the car got out, and Bothwell drove away. Employees heard a crash, and Bothwell and his car were in the bank’s lobby. A customer came in the bank and held Bothwell down on the floor until police arrived. Bothwell was charged with second-degree burglary, criminal mischief and reckless endangerment. He is being held on cash bond totaling $51,000.
