The Etowah County Board of Education approved $84 million
budget for 2014-2014 Tuesday. Supt. Alan Cosby said the budget will keep the
county schools financially sound. The
biggest expenditures are for instructional and support services at more than
$50 million to cover salaries of more than 1,100 employees.
Cosby said they estimated expenditures to be high and
revenues to be low,” which he said provides an overall good budget at the end
of the year.”
