A 22 year old Talladega man is being held without bond after
being arrested for the capital murder of his 8 year old daughter. Eric Rotary Payne-Blakney, of Old Shocco
Road, was arrested Tuesday on a grand jury indictment. Payne-Blakney is accused of killing his
8-month-old daughter on June 11, 2013, in his home. The cause of death was head
trauma. The child was initially taken to
the emergency room at Citizens Baptist Medical Center and was later transferred
to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, where she eventually died from her
injuries. Because of the seriousness of
the charge, Payne-Blakney is being held in the Talladega County Jail without
bond.
