An 83-year-old Anniston man reported to police Friday that
someone allegedly representing a bank in Hong Kong called him at home, telling
him he’d won $500,000. The victim was told all he needed to do to collect his
winnings was pay taxes on the prize money.
From March 4 to April 4 the man sent the suspect $35,680. The victim
called police to report that he never got his prize money and the suspect
