Police say an East Gadsden gas station was robbed by two men
early Wednesday morning. The clerk told
police two men came in the rear entrance to the Murphy Express on East Meighan
Boulevard. They were dressed all in black, with the hoods of their sweatshirts
pulled up and with white bandannas covering their noses and mouths. The men
jumped over the counter and demanded the money out of the register. The clerk said one of the men pointed a
shiny, silver gun at her when he made his demands. She told police she believed
the gun was a toy, but complied with the men’s demands as best she could to be
safe and avoid angering them. The men also ordered her several times to open
the store’s safe, but the clerk said she wasn’t able to open it. After getting the money, the men made the
clerk lie face down on the floor, then fled toward North Third Street. Police
are investigating the incident.
