An Attalla man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison
after pleading guilty to robbery charges.
43 year old Allen C. Whitmore, pleaded guilty to third-degree robbery
befor Presiding Circuit Judge Allen Millican. His trial was about to begin, but
he withdrew his not guilty plea and entered a guilty plea. According to the
terms of the plea, Whitmore waived any right to appeal his conviction. The charge stems from September 2013, when
Whitmore forced his way into an Attalla residence and assaulted the resident
and then stole her purse, coin collection and jewelry.
