Man injured in Hobson City Shooting



Calhoun county sheriffs deputies say A 20-year-old man was recovering after being shot in the hip early Sunday while at a party in Hobson City.
The shooting was reported at 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning when authorities were called to Regional Medical Center, where the victim was being treated for his injuries.
The victim was with a crowd of people at a home near Lincoln and Council streets when someone began firing into the group. The victim told deputies that he does not believe he was the target of the shooting.
The victim said he just heard gunshots ring out and he was hit by a stray bullet.
The Sheriff’s Office is withholding the victim’s name.
