Suspect in Attalla Robbery Surrenders

A Blountsville man being sought by Attalla police after a gas drive-off turned into a robbery has turned himself in at the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office.
24 year old Charles Marlin Harris III, is charged with first-degree robbery and third-degree theft. Attalla Chief Investigator Doug Jordan said Harris’ bond is set at $50,000 for the Attalla offenses.
Authorities had been looking for Harris since the May 19 robbery at the Maverick Fuel Station on Third Street SW in Attalla. He allegedly pulled into the station and pumped about $85 worth of fuel into his Dodge truck around 8:30 a.m. and appeared to be about to drive away without paying. When the clerk approached him to tell him to pay for the gas, the suspect pulled a gun on the clerk and left without paying for the gas.
