Talladega man arrested after showing up drunk for court

A Talladega man was arrested on a felony burglary warrant after he showed up drunk for a for a hearing in Talladega municipal court.  21 year old Brandon Jarrall Funderburg, of Westgate, will also be facing additional burglary charges later this week, according to   Funderburg appeared in Talladega Municipal Court Tuesday evening to answer to citations for violating the city’s noise ordinance. A detective in the courtroom, who was aware of the burglary warrant, recognized Funderburg and attempted to take him into custody. Funderburg snatched his arm away, tried to run and became very loud and disorderly.  It eventually took three officers and the threat of a stun gun to get Funderburg subdued and in custody. In addition to burglary in the third degree, he was also charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and public drunkenness. Funderburg was charged in connection with a residential burglary on Brignoli Street in August 2013. He apparently cut himself during that burglary and was identified by DNA left at the scene.
