Police search for weekend hit and run driver



Pell City police are still looking for a white male who was driving a dark, older model pickup truck who was involved in a hit-and-run accident Sunday.  Police said the accident happened at 12:59 p.m. Sunday afternoon in front of the Pell City Steakhouse.  A 12-year-old girl was crossing Comer Avenue from the steakhouse to the parking lot,” when The driver of the pickup turned right off U.S. 231 North onto Comer Avenue, striking the girl.”
Witnesses said the girl rolled up on top of the hood, and the driver hit his brakes and she rolled off the hood.  When she rolled off, he drove off, striking the girl again. Police said the truck was either a Chevrolet or GMC.”
Police say the girl had some bruises and abrasions, but no broken bones.  She was sent to St. Vincent’s St. Clair for precautionary measures and released later that afternoon.

Police are asking that if anyone knows anything about this driver or accident, to call the Pell City Police Department at 205-338-3334.
