Prowler found passed out after breaking into Gadsden building

Gadsden police responded to a call about a possible prowler Tuesday night and found a man passed out, bleeding heavily from a cut on his hand.
Officers were dispatched at about 11:30 p.m. to a residence in the 1400 block of Centre Avenue, where a man reported a possible prowler. The first officer on the scene found the alleged prowler inside a small utility shed.
The suspect apparently had broken out a window to enter the shed, and must have cut his hand during the break-in. Officers found the suspect passed out on a small bed inside the building. He had a severe cut on his left hand, according to the police report, and had bled all over the bed’s mattress, ruining it for future use.
When medics arrived, they had to make entry through a locked door, damaging it.
The suspect was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
