Daughter of former Gadsden minister files wrongful death suit against her father and United Methodist Church

The daughter of a former Gadsden minister who fatally shot his wife has filed a wrongful death suit against him and the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Details of 20-year-old Suzanna Greer's suit against her father, Terry, and the religious group are unavailable because details of her complaint are sealed.

A judge earlier this year found 55-year-old Terry Greer not guilty by reason of insanity in the killing of his wife Lisa Greer and the wounding of his daughter on Jan. 10, 2013.

Testimony showed that the minister suffered from dementia and severe depression that a doctor said likely triggered the shooting. He's being held in a secure mental health facility and has filed a malpractice suit against the hospital where he was treated weeks before the shooting.
