Jointer to stay on as Calhoun County Administrator

Ken Joiner

Calhoun County administrator Ken Joiner will not retire at the end of the month as he’d announced in April of last year.
Joiner, who’s served in the post for 43 years, set an official retirement date of Feb. 1, 2015, but said he’d probably be out by mid-December. He never left and after taking about a week off from work this month changed his mind.
Joiner said he hopes to continue as county administrator for several more years.
Fred Wilson, District 1 commissioner and the governing body’s chairman, said each of the commissioners agreed with Joiner’s decision to remain onboard.
Jonathan Gaddy, Calhoun County Emergency Management Agency director, had been tapped as Joiner’s replacement.
Since the longtime administrator announced his retirement in April, Gaddy had been working alongside him, preparing to manage the business of the County Commission.
Gaddy said he’d be returning full-time to his EMA position, and that he was excited to do so.
