Frank Wayne Bailey |
A Gadsden attorney has been arrested for allegedly
threatening an Alabama State Trooper during a traffic court appearance.
62 year old Frank Wayne Bailey, is charged with one felony count of making a
terrorist threat in connection with an incident on Jan. 8. Bailey allegedly
made a threatening statement to a trooper in an Etowah County district judge's
courtroom.
Bailey, who was arrested Wednesday, was booked into the
county detention center on a $2,500 property bond.
This isn't Bailey's first run-in with the law. In 2012, he
was acquitted of second-degree extortion and various other charges in
connection with a 1995 murder case in Coosa County. Bailey and the county
district attorney were accused of trying to extort the suspect in the case by
threatening a capital murder indictment against the man.
Also in 2012, Bailey was arrested on a DUI charge in Gadsden
but it was later dismissed "with conditions." He also had a charge of
carrying a pistol without a permit dismissed in 2010
