Authorities have released the names of those who died in
Wednesday’s head-on collision in St. Clair County .
St. Clair County Coroner Dennis Russell identified the
victims as 34 year old Burke Wright, of
Ashville, who is formerly of Moody, and 68 year old Brenda Money, of Vincent.
Russell said Money was traveling south along U.S. 231, and
Wright was traveling north in a pickup truck. The collision happened along U.S.
231, north of Popes Chapel Road, at 4:20 p.m.
He said both victims died of blunt force trauma. Both
victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident forced the closure of U.S. 231 for several
hours. St. Clair County Assistant Sheriff Billy Murray said the Alabama State
Troopers are investigating the accident.
