The Jacksonville Board of Education on Monday named Tim
Nabors interim superintendent of the city’s school system. According to board attorney Jim Turnbach,
Nabors may serve in that post for “no less than two months, and not more than
five.” Turnbach said the interim
superintendent’s pay hasn’t been set, because the board needs to find out the
limitations on how much Nabors can work and earn as someone already retired from
Alabama’s education system.
Nabors was superintendent of Marshall County School system
eight years. He retired in December.
The 54-year-old Nabors is not a stranger to Calhoun County,
having graduated from Jacksonville State University in 1984.
He landed his first teaching job at Pleasant Valley, back
when there was one campus for kindergarten through 12th grade.
