Etowah Commissioners to begin interviewing CAO candidates



Three applicants for Etowah county’s top administrative job are expected to be interviewed next week by members of  the Etowah County Commission.
Commissioner Tim Choate said the committee to select a chief administrative officer settled on three finalists.
They are Sherrie Kelley, the CAO in Coosa County; Kathryn Butler, the former CAO for Coffee County now employed at the Walton County Sheriff’s Office in Florida; and Eric Pruitt, deputy director of the Jefferson County Revenue Department.
The three were among six candidates interviewed Friday and Monday for the job,. All had either county or municipal government management experience.
Choate and Commissioners Carolyn Parker and Lewis Fuller served on a committee to examine applications and whittle the number of candidates.
Choate said 37 people submitted applications for the position.
