The body of Christopher Mostello, the 30-year-old man who drowned in the Coosa River on Sunday, has been recovered.
Scott
Hassell, an administrator with the Etowah County Sheriff's Office,
issued a statement at 5:37 a.m. Tuesday saying they had recovered
Mostello's body. He said they will release more information soon.
Hassell
said Mostello, who didn't know how to swim, somehow got out of the boat
and into the water on Sunday afternoon. Two people who were with him
tried to save him but weren't successful. However, one family member
said Mostello does know how to swim.
Mostello was last seen in the
water about two miles south from Rainbow Landing, in the Rainbow
City/Southside area of Etowah County.
Search crews have been looking for Mostello since 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
