Pell City Police search for bank burglary suspect



Pell City police and St. Clair County deputies are searching for a bank burglary suspect. Police say a man was trying to break into the vault at the main branch of Union State Bank in Pell City Sunday when police arrived. He ran.
The attempted burglary happened Sunday afternoon at the Union State Bank on 20th Street in Pell City. Police say the bank was closed when a man broke-in.  They say he was attempting to get into the vault when a police officer arrived. An officer was holding him at gunpoint when he ran.
Police have not released a detailed description of the suspect. They say he ran to the northeast.
K-9s and helicopters were called in to help with the search. Anyone with information about the suspect should call (205) 884-3333.
