Heflin Drug Bust



The Heflin Police Department has announced the arrests of two suspects in a marijuana drug bust.
Chief A.J. Benefield said the suspects were taken into custody during two separate traffic stops Tuesday morning.
The first happened on Almon Street right off exit 199 of Interstate 20. The second stop was at the 203 mile marker of I-20.
According to Benefield, 20 pounds of marijuana was found during the first arrest and officers seized $1,148 in cash.  Police confiscated 1.5 pounds during the second arrest and seized $1,479.
Benefield said both suspects are being held in the Cleburne County Jail. Their names have not yet been released.
