Ethics commission to hear case today involving Talladega Municipal Court Employee

The Alabama Ethics Commission is scheduled to conduct a hearing today to determine whether or not an employee in the Talladega Municipal Court Office violated state standards.
The hearing will take place in secret, but if there are any findings, they will be announced to the public.
Little else about the specific employee or the allegations.
Talladega City Manager Brian Muenger said he is planning to go to Montgomery today and offer testimony to the panel if needed.
Although Muenger could not comment on the specific allegations in this case, he said he would be glad to see the situation resolved. The case was supposed to be heard by the commission two months ago but was continued.
Muenger also declined to speculate on a possible next step. The case certainly involved allegations in violation of employee discipline policy, but it was "a matter of interpretation’ as to whether or not it might constitute a criminal violation.
Muenger said There was no confusion or lack of understanding. But there was an effort later to conceal what had been done. That was deliberate."
