Piedmont police arrested A Piedmont man and his wife Tuesday
after officers found a dead dog chained to a tree in the couple’s backyard.
43 year old Joy Flenord,
and 40 year old Travis Flenord, were arrested and both charged with
misdemeanor animal cruelty.
The city’s animal
control officer told police Monday that during the weekend, the officer had a
call about the animal.
Officers went to the home and found the dog dead, laying in
the backyard.
The animal control officer removed several other dogs from
the home, which is on Littlejohn Drive. Those dogs have since been taken to a
local shelter.
Both defendants were taken to the Piedmont City Jail on Tuesday afternoon. Bond for both was set
at $300.
