At the 50th annual Mid-South Marching Band Festival
Saturday, 25 of 26 competing bands earned superior ratings, or scores of 1,
while the Fyffe High School Band and the Albertville High School Bands received
the Rip Reagan Award for most entertaining bands in A/AA Division and AAA/AAAA
Divisions, respectively.
Fyffe, Briarwood Christian, Pell City and Albertville high
school bands won best in their divisions.
Bands performed from noon until just after 9 p.m.
Saturday. In addition to the 26 competition bands, a large crowd saw exhibition
performances by the Gadsden City High School Titan Band and the Marching
Southerners of Jacksonville State University.
