Officials at Jacksonville State University say the Southern
Association of College and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) has
reaffirmed the school's accreditation for 10 years.
That means JSU won't need to seek accreditation again until
2024.
"This is another significant milestone in the progress
that all of you have been able to make in improving Jacksonville State
University and the value that we offer our students and community,"
President William Meehan said in a statement.
School officials said it was the first time the school has
ever scored so well. Rebecca Turner, provost and vice president for academic
and student affairs, said reviews usually involving further reporting.
