As increasingly cold temperatures loom, several warming
stations have been opened across parts of Central Alabama,
Calhoun County
Carver Community Center in Anniston will be open open
February 18 through February 21
Oxford Civic Center will be open February 18 through Febuary
20 and possibly the 21st
Etowah County
Salvation Army – 114 North 11th Street, Gadsden
(Continuously open through at least Saturday morning.)
Elliott Community Center – 2829 West Meighan Boulevard,
Gadsden. Call (256) 549-4674 with any questions. The will be opened 24/7 for this event from
(Wednesday 8 a.m. – Friday 5 p.m.)
Carver Gymnasium – 1030 Tuscaloosa Avenue, Gadsden (Tuesday
– Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.)
Gadsden Public Library – 254 College Street, Gadsden. Operating hours available to the public are:
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, the
library will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Carnes Recreation Center – 102 Case Avenue SE, Attalla (Tuesday
– Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.)
The Town of Altoona will open during normal business
hours. Call 205-589-2000 to request
directions to their Warming Center.
George Wallace Senior Center – 407 Hollingsworth Drive,
Glencoe (Wednesday – Friday 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.)
Rainbow City Community Center – 3702 Rainbow Drive, Rainbow
City (Wednesday – Friday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
Southside Community Center – 2142 Highway 77, Southside

Walnut Grove Recreation Center – Community Building on Vandiver
