Oscar Lewis King |
It has been more than a year since Oscar Lewis King's family
reported him missing.
A 74-year-old Centre resident, King was last seen Dec. 2,
2013. And after more than 14 months, Cherokee County investigators are once
again asking for help in trying to find out what happened to him.
Sheriff Jeff Shaver said King went missing about the same
time as his 2001 blue Dodge Dakota truck, which had an Alabama disability
license plate.
At the time, family members said he left his glasses and
medication behind. He is originally from Texas. He weighs 195 pounds.
Shaver said investigators "have been diligently working
to locate King since he was reported missing." In the year since,
authorities have searched bodies of water in the area looking for King or his
vehicle, and have found nothing, he said.
"There's been no information," Shaver said.
"He had some issues with becoming disoriented, but other than the fact
that he is missing and his vehicle is missing, we've had no other information.
We're hoping somebody saw something or heard something. We're looking for any
type of information."
The Cherokee County Major Crimes Unit, along with state
investigators, are now assisting in the investigation.
Anyone with information is being asked to call the sheriff's
office tip line at (256) 927-9999.
