One man was treated for a gunshot
wound to the leg Thursday afternoon after an altercation with a gas station
employee ended in gunfire in Anniston.
Shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday Anniston
police officers were called Fuller Gasoline on U.S. 431 near its intersection
with Beverly Road, just south of Anniston Memorial Gardens. Anniston police
Chief Shane Denham said the station employee shot the man, who was taken to
Regional Medical Center, after “an altercation” between the two.
Denham said the worker was being
detained at the scene for questioning, but that no decision had been made as to
whether anyone would face charges related to the incident.
