Suspect in murder and dismemberment bound over to grand jury

Terry Lee McKinney

Cherokee County District Judge Wes Mobley found probable cause sufficient to turn over the murder case against Terry Lee McKinney to a grand jury.
McKinney is accused of murdering and dismembering 60-year-old Learoy “Pete” Foster, a Leesburg man who had done work for him off and on for a few years.
He is being held on $1 million bond, and the judge denied a motion to lower that bond Thursday in a hearing at the Etowah County Judicial Building.
McKinney is being housed at the Etowah County Detention Center because of his medical condition. He is a paraplegic and appeared in court in a motorized wheelchair.
