Anniston burglary suspect arrested

James Leonard Johnson

An Anniston man wanted in connection with three burglaries in 2013 was arrested Tuesday thanks to an unbuckled seat belt and good police work.  47 year old James Leonard Johnson, was arrested on three outstanding warrants for third-degree burglary during a traffic stop for a seat belt violation. According to police, the warrants stemmed from three different burglaries at Raymond James Financial last summer, two of which occurred in May with the third coming in August.  The Anniston Police Department Crime Lab team collected physical evidence, including blood, during the initial investigation into the burglaries and sent it to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for DNA testing. The results of the tests linked Johnson to the burglaries and arrest warrants were issued.
