Gadsden police investigating home invasion

Gadsden police are investigating a reported weekend home invasion where A burglar and a resident exchanged gunshots inside a Ewing Avenue home.  Police say the incident occurred shortly after midnite Saturday morning when a 6-foot, 170-pound black man wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and a blue bandana over his face kicked in the back door of a Ewing Avenue home. He ran into one resident, a 47-year-old woman, who had come out to investigate a noise in the living room, and opened fire in her direction, hitting the woman.  The home’s other resident came out and shot back at the intruder, forcing him to flee out the front door. Police say their investigation is ongoing.
