Talladega man sentenced to 22 years for burglary

A Talladega man has been sentenced to 22 years in prison after being convicted by a jury of burglary in the second degree last month. The sentence was handed down by Circuit Judge Bo Hollingsworth.
39 year old Edward Charles Lewis,  has three prior felony convictions, according to Assistant District Attorney Jake Argo.
Lewis was convicted of breaking into a home on Riddle Road in September 2013 and stealing a 50-inch television; the victim recognized him. He was also spotted loading the TV into his car by two witnesses in Curry Court.
Lewis attempted to say that he was at a casino in Wetumpka at the time of the break-in, but the time line for that scenario never fit.
