Gadsden man arrested on drug trafficking charge

Heflin police Tuesday morning charged a 42 year old Gadsden man with drug trafficking after finding 2.6 pounds of cocaine and $6,751 in a hidden compartment in his car.
Officers pulled over Darius Cozar Ellis, near mile marker 200 on westbound Interstate 20 about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday morning for failure to maintain his lane. When they approached the car, the officers smelled burned marijuana and searched the car where the recovered the drugs, cash and a handgun. Ellis is being held on a 1.5 million dollar bond.
