Talladega elects new council and school board member

Residents of Talladega’s Ward 3 will have a new city councilman and a new Board of Education member following Tuesday’s runoff election.

In the council race, challenger David Street narrowly defeated incumbent Donnie Miller, 200 votes to 183.

In the school board race, Jake Montgomery won over Katrina Thomas, 263 votes to 119.

Street and Montgomery will both be sworn into office Nov. 2.
