ABI Investigating officer involved shooting in Clay County

The Clay County Sheriff's Department is reporting a shooting involving a deputy and a drug task force agent on Friday night.   Sheriff Ray Latham said the shooting happened just before 8:30 p.m. after a traffic stop south of Ashland.  They say the suspect inside the vehicle pulled a weapon on the deputy and the agent. One of the officers then shot the suspect.  The suspect was transported to a hospital with non-life threating injuries.  The Alabama Bureau of Investigation is investigating the incident.
