Etowah county jailer arrested for domestic violence

The Etowah County Sheriff's Department is conducting an internal investigation after Gadsden police arrested a detention center employee for domestic violence.  41 year old George Dennis Bullock Jr., of Gadsden, was arrested Friday night after an altercation in a parking lot Broad and Locust streets.  According to the police report, Bullock and a woman had been inside a nearby bar and argued after the woman had been dancing with another male friend. Bullock grabbed her by the neck, according to the report, and when another man tried to intervene, Bullock allegedly grabbed the Taser from the duty belt he wears at the Etowah County Detention Center and tried to use it. The woman knocked the weapon away.  Etowah County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Natalie Barton said the incident is being investigated.
