Boaz Independence celebration this saturday with free concert

Country singer John Anderson and pop vocalist B.J. Thomas will be featured at the city of Boaz’s annual Independence Celebration free concert and fireworks display Saturday evening on Billy B. Dyar Boulevard.  Thomas will perform at 7 p.m. and Anderson will take the stage at 8:30 p.m. following a set change, according to Boaz Mayor Tim Walker.

 Walker said Anderson was booked first and Thomas was added as the city was under budget for the show. He said it’s the first time the city has had two well-known acts for the event.
