Country supergroup Alabama will perform a free concert in
Fort Payne this Sunday, June 15 - its first for the hometown folks since 1997's
final June Jam. The concert kicks off at
2 p.m. at the group's Fan Club Headquarters, Fan club members will receive a
wrist band for food and drinks and VIP seating, but on a first come, first
served basis. The Fan Club offices open at 8 a.m. for wrist band pick up, with doors
open for the concert at 12 p.m. It is one of several events group members have
planned this week. Teddy Gentry and Rockit City will appear at "Singing
With the Stars" Thursday at Northeast Alabama Community College. A
songwriters session will start at 5 p.m., and talent contest will follow at 6
p.m. The concert begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance, and $15 at the
door. Advance tickets may be purchased at Alabama Headquarters, (256)
845-1646. Jeff Cook and the All-Star
Goodtime Band will appear Friday night at the DeKalb Theater. Showtime begins
at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20. For more information, call the box office at
(256) 997-0396. Randy Owen will stage a "Fandemonium on the Farm"
concert Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m., on County Road 255 in Fort Payne.
Admission is $20 plus a Randy Owen fan club membership, which can be purchased
at the gate. Gates open at 12 p.m. An autograph session will follow.
