The city of Anniston wants you to "like" it. Aziza Jackson, the city's public information
officer announced this week the city has set up Facebook, Twitter, and
Instagram accounts, to keep residents connected. Jackson said the social media
presence will hopefully drive traffic to the city's website, which is currently
being updated. Jackson said the social
media presence is grouped together under the theme "Hello, Anniston,".
It will allow residents to submit their own images that could be posted to the
accounts. Jackson said the idea for the
"Hello, Anniston" theme came by asking the question - what does
Anniston say about itself? What are the
pages looking for? Jackson said Perhaps
a selfie at one of Anniston's restaurants or biking trails, "Or a picture
of a sunset. It gives residents a way to show how they spend their time in
Anniston".
