Body discovered in Coosa River in Glencoe

A man’s body was found floating in the Coosa River Wednesday night off Sibert Circle in Glencoe. according to Etowah County Coroner Michael Head.the call about the body came in at 7:46 p.m. The man has not been identified.  Head said based on the appearance of the body, he would estimate the man had been in the river for some time, possibly as long as four or five days.Personnel from the Center for Applied Forensics will be on the scene this morning as the investigation, involving Glencoe and Southside police departments, the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, continues.
