Talladega police investigating shooting at apartment complex

Talladega police are investigating a shooting incident Tuesday night at City Court II Apartments that damaged two vehicles and injured a bystander.  A witness told investigators there seemed to be two groups of people exchanging shots across the parking lot. One vehicle appears to have been struck at least three times, and a second vehicle was hit once.

36 year old Michael Cunningham,  told investigators that he hit the ground when he heard the gunshots. He first noticed a hole in his pants leg, then blood coming from his leg.

Cunningham was taken to the emergency room of Citizens Baptist Medical Center, where he was treated for soft tissue injuries to his calf and ankle.

Police said Cunningham did not appear to be an intended target and was not involved in the gunfight.
