A 31-year-old Gadsden woman died early Thursday morning
following a late-night crash on U.S. Highway 278 West in the Walnut Grove area.
Etowah County Coroner Michael Head said Teresa Pruitt was
pronounced dead at 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning at a local hospital.
She was traveling on U.S. Highway 278 West about 11 p.m.
Wednesday, according to Head, when her vehicle veered into the path of an
oncoming Tyson chicken feed truck.
It took emergency responders about 20 minutes to remove Pruitt
from her 1998 Ford Ranger.
