The Jacksonville City Council is scheduled to conduct a
first reading this evening of an ordinance that would transfer land to the
citys school board for a new elementary school. A first reading must take place
first before the council can vote on the ordinance; city officials have said
that vote is likely to take place at the last meeting in March.  Prior to todays meeting, the school board and
the council will have a joint work session to discuss negotiations regarding

first reading this evening of an ordinance that would transfer land to the
