Anniston man accused of abusing 3 year old

An Anniston man has been charged with sexually abusing the 3-year-old daughter of his then-girlfriend last year.  The 31-year-old man is charged with first-degree sexual abuse of a child younger than 12. Court records state that the crimes occurred between  March 1 and March 31 of 2014.  Calhoun County Chief Deputy Matthew Wade said the man’s arrest came after a lengthy investigation by the Calhoun County District Attorney’s Office, the Sheriff’s Office and the Children’s Center.  The man, who lived on the 300 block of Weatherbrook Lane when the alleged crimes occurred, was arrested March 24 and was being held in the Calhoun County Jail on Tuesday. His bond was set at $7,500.
