Gadsden woman charged with murder in infants death

A Gadsden woman has been charged with capital murder in connection to
the death of a baby in 2014.
57 year old Eva Goggins Lindsey, is being held without bond at the Etowah County Detention Center.
An autopsy report states the baby died from blunt force trauma.
The six-month-old baby was first taken to a doctor's office on Feb. 24, then to a local hospital, and finally Children's of Alabama hospital where she died on Feb. 26, 2014.
The autopsy results were returned to the Etowah County Sheriff's Office on Thursday and included evidence they needed to charge Lindsey with murder. She was arrested on Thursday, April 2.
The sheriff's office has not commented on the relationship between Lindsey and the baby. They also have not released the infant's name.
The sheriff's office and the District Attorney's office are working on the case.
