Suspect in Childersburg Shootings surrenders

A Childersburg man suspected of shooting two individuals with a handgun April 4 turned himself in to Childersburg police Friday.
26-year-old Johnny Lee Marbury faces a pair of first-degree assault charges from an incident April 4 between 7:15 and 7:20 p.m. in the 200 block of Needmore Circle.
Police had been working with members of the family and the community to get Marbury, known by his ali  and 57 year old Frederick Parker Cole.
as, “Little Johnny,” to turn himself in for the shootings of Childersburg natives 40 year old Tammi Chartrand,
Chartrand, who suffered a shoulder wound, was transported to Coosa Valley Medical Center. Cole, who suffered a grazing head wound, was transported to Shelby Baptist Medical Center.
Police say Marbury became a suspect through investigation and statements from the scene of the incident.
Marbury was transported to the Talladega County Jail.
District Judge Jeb Fannin set Marbury’s bond at $50,000 for each assault charge.
